Project: 6kW Eoltec Wind TurbineWind Turbine in Co Kerry

Client:        Donal P. O’Neill
Location:    Co. Kerry
Description:    Eoltec ‘Scirocco’ 6kW Wind Turbine

This installation is on an existing home located in Co. Kerry.

This project consists of the installation of an Eoltec ‘Scirocco’ 6kW Wind Turbine with Power One ‘Aurora’ 6kW inverter. The installation is grid connected.

The turbine is located in a field to the rear of the house with good exposure to the prevailing south westerly wind. It is installed on a 12m high monopole tilt-up tower.

The inverter equipment is located in the garage and wired to the distribution board in the house. It is estimated that the system will produce approximately 14000 kWh/year and is expected to produce 2 to 3 times what the annual electrical usage of the house is, leaving plenty to export to the grid and generate revenue. See details on our Grants & Incentives page (click here).

Notes:
This installation is one of a number Domestic installations under SEI’s Small and Micro-scale Generation Pilot Field Trials - see www.sei.ie/Grants/Microgenpilot/. This installation’s performance will be independently monitored by SEI over an 18 month period.
Electrical output for the first week alone was 420kWh and was over 100kWh in a single 24 hour period.
