Project: 4 kWp Q-Cells PV System
Client: S. Coleman
Location: Co. Wexford
Description: Q-Cells 4 kWp CIGS Thin Film Installation
This system, installed in 2011, is on a existing house located near the Wicklow / Wexford border.
This project consists of the installation of 42 No. Q-Cells ‘QSmart 95w’ Framed CIGS Thin film solar Modules (3990 Wp total) with StecaGrid 2010+ (1 master + 1 slave modular inverter). The installation is grid connected.
The Solar PV modules are located on the south east and south west facing roofs of the house. Due to the different orientations the StecaGrid 2010+ inverter was chosen due to having 4 MPP (multiple power point) trackers. The pitch of the roofs are about 35 deg. and they are un-shaded.
The inverter equipment is located in the attic and are wird from here to the distribution board. It is estimated that the system will produce approximately 3630 kWh/year, generating approximately 70% to 80% of the electricity the house will use in a year. The owner of this system will also be able to sell excess electricity generated. See details on our Grants & Incentives page.
Notes:
As the size of the system exceeded the 12m2 allowed under the planning exemptions, the customer had to optain planning permission from Wexford County Council before proceeding with the installation.
