Description:    Q-Cells 1.5kWp CIGS Thin Film Installation


This system installed in Jan 2011 is on a existing home located in Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

This project consists of the installation of 20 No. Q-Cells ‘SL1 75w’ Framed CIGS Thin film solar Modules (1.5kWp total) with Mastervolt XS2000 inverter. The installation is grid connected.

The pv modules are located on the south west facing roof of the house. The roof has a 30 deg. pitch and is un-shaded.

The inverter equipment is located in a room and wired to the sub-distribution board in the hall. It is estimated that the system will produce approximately 1450 kWh/year. As the homeowner had already done alot of work in reducing his electricity consumption, this system (although not a large one) is generating over 65% of his electricity needs. Excess electricity generated during the day is exported to the grid. See details on our Grants & Incentives page.

Notes:
The owner of this home had previously installed a Solar Hot Water system.
